CARBON
TRANSFORMATION
= CO2T
Industrial scale carbon removal
- Remove CO2 from atmosphere
- Store it long term
- Find ways to finance this
- Scale into global industry
There is no other way to achieve Net Zero.
Industrial scale removal includes biochar, CO2 concrete, timber construction, and other verified, science based methods.
Don’t just take our word for it.
More on carbon transformation here.
UN IPCC (2018) says up to 1000Gt CO2 removal needed by 2100: “All pathways that limit global warming to 1.5°C project the use of carbon dioxide removal (CDR).”
IPCC says:
20 GT/y
must be removed
THE GOOD NEWS
We already have the technologies to remove and store CO2.
These create green jobs, investment and green growth.
Big name early adopters are finding ways to fund it.

THE BAD NEWS
IT USUALLY TAKES 50 YEARS TO REACH A TIPPING POINT.
first it’s unfamiliar
then it’s seen as fringe
then come early adopters
then mainstream adoption
then economies of scale…
…BY WHICH TIME IT’S TOO LATE.
Your vital role
You (yes you) can help accelerate Carbon Transformation just by signing and sharing.
How? Because all it takes in the social media age to become mainstream is some millions of supporters.
The internet amplifies public demand. And this in turn drives corporations and governments to respond.
WHERE THERE’S HYPE THERE’S HOPE
YOU (YES YOU) CAN BRING ABOUT CARBON TRANSFORMATION
“Large-scale CO2 removal will require public acceptance and support.”
- Dr Julio Friedman, Columbia University Center for Global Energy Policy
1. SIGN
When we reach 1000 signatures Puro.earth will remove 1000 tonnes of CO2. Participants will receive a CO2 Removal Certificate (CORC).

This many people have already signed up!
The more people sign the more support we can show to the media!

Before the start of this campaign carbon transformation and carbon removal were unknown phrases with fewer than 100 google searches/day.

MORE ON CARBON TRANSFORMATION:
Carbon Dioxide removal is needed to meet our climate goals.
But how to do it globally?
New forms of Carbon Dioxide removal have been proposed. Many of these (eg direct air carbon capture and storage, ocean fertilization) are controversial:
- high cost and impractical
- unknown environmental or social risk
Carbon transformation starts with a different premise.
What if instead of risky future technologies, we scale already available carbon removal? Specifically focus on carbon removal from existing carbon net negative industries.
Carbon net negative industries already exist. These carbon transformers generate net negative carbon flows in construction materials, agriculture, recycling and waste.
But they are marginal today, where as the mainstream material flows in those industries are huge emitters of CO2, which can instead become part of the solution by carbon transformation.
The existing carbon removing industries are making money through products, for instance building materials, but are scraping by economically in lack of demand. They are far from achieving their full volume potential and impact on climate change.
Carbon transformation is a new business model for carbon removal – those that remove get paid by the ones who neutralize their residual emissions with verified carbon removals. The additional funding enables removers to scale rapidly (it’s a new revenue stream). For instance, through lowering prices or increasing marketing & sales.
This is a win:win and helps build a thriving green economy with green jobs. Rather than needing punitive taxes and economic decline, we can go forward with innovation and transformation.
